There was a book published almost a year ago now I think.. . sure its in a vintage blog post here somewhere.. all about the different terms one can use for "drunk". Was workshopping this with some new recruits ( MC & D!) this weekend and thought I would share the wisdom:
Barnoisseur-a discerning social scenester who has a rich knowledge of local watering holes and exhibits discriminating taste when choosing where to indulge.
not to be confused with...
Barnosaur-the older man at the end of the bar who may or may not have been sitting there since the Ice Age (use of ice cubes in drinks).
Barllerina: flits, floats, leeps, tip toes from bar to bar with grace.
Lushstar:Female in gender and notortious in nature. Famous for imbibement and antics, legendary stories from worldwide alcoholic adventures.
Due to the "economy" (snore) I have watched almost all of my friends either lose their jobs, hang on to the job they have/hate with all ten fingers and toes, or launch into a new adventure. We may all be poor, but what we do still love is a cold drink, warm conversation, a cute bartender and a little something to snack on. Here's to us, the economically disabled but the fun enabled.
